BRISBANE BOAT SHOW WRAP Boab had an awesome response at the Brisbane Boat Show again this year. It was a pleasure talking to everyone there. We enjoyed catching up with past hirers and showing people an alternative to boat ownership. The show was a great way to kick off our new location at Redcliffe. Whale watching Gold Coast with BOAB. The whale migration season is nearly upon us yet again. The Gold Coast is a great location to view these majestic creatures. Thousands of humpback whales pass by each year. If you are lucky you may even see a rare white whale.

Broadwater Parklands Stage 1 opens The Gold Coast City Council will be unveiling stage one of the $42 million Broadwater Parklands redevelopment on Saturday August 23. Some key features of the development include a new 100m Pier, the Great Lawn for family activities, the Porch for performances, the Pier Pavillion with a Cafe, toilet facilities and lockers. There will also be a unique mangrove habitat, incorporating environmentally sustainable design.
After years of planning and construction works, this will be an amazing addition to the already-spectacular Gold Coast Broadwater.

Boab at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2009 The 21st annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show with over 400 exhibitors and almost 600 boats was a great success for Boab. More than 36,000 keen boaties walked through the gates to see the impressive display of boats, marine services and boating accessories. As the exclusive outboard supplier for Boab, Honda Marine Australia was more than happy to invite Boab alongside their display of new products. Over three days, we displayed our bright orange 5 metre Kimberley All-Rounder with 75hp Honda. It attracted a large number of enquiries about the concept of Boab Boat Hire and how simple and cost-effective it really is to get out on the water!
For those who had already seen or heard of Boab, it was difficult to hold back their excitement! With new franchises opening up across Australia, and plenty of enquiries from the show, it won’t be too long before there is a Boab boat near you. The Coomera River at sunrise A blue sky at sunrise and glassy water provided the perfect opportunity for Sheldon, his Dad and some mates to fish the Coomera River. A mixed catch included Flathead, Bream and Catfish. The Catfish shouldn't be underestimated, as it is a surprisingly fun sportfish!
There are plenty of things to do up the river, and you don't have to travel far to enjoy the serenity of the area. Kick back in the boat, and wait for a bite. Enjoy a drink or simply flick on the stereo and listen to your favourite MP3's. One minute the boat can be setup for an early morning of fishing, then when you've caught enough fish (yeah right!), the bait board can be lifted off to utilise the built-in ski pole. How versatile is that?!The Coomera River has a great, glassy 40-knot zone and is a perfect place to get out on a ski, tube or wakeboard.
The boat ramp at Watersports Lane has just been revamped with plenty more parking, new bitumen, lights and has great grip on the ramp. Be sure to check it out some time!

The Broadwater is not just for Gold Coasters! After travelling down the coast, crab pots and fishing rods loaded, the boys headed off with their Dad and friends for a day in the Kimberley. While Nicholas and Christopher don't have boat licences, their Dad and mate sure do! Upon returning to the jetty at the end of their day, a few comments were made about how the boat was a pleasure to drive. The day was an enjoyable experience all round.

A Good Friday on the water Sal and the folks headed out on the beautiful Broadwater one Easter Friday...and despite the rain clouds which occasionally blocked the Gold Coast sun, a great day was had by all! Hiring the Kimberley was a perfect opportunity for the hardworking Bakery owner to get a day to relax and wind down for a short break. A few lines were baited up and the catch included a good size Flathead and a number of Bream - most of which were not big enough to throw in the esky! As soon as the sun rose, the guys jumped straight into the boat after a short run through, and at the end of the day, left the boat all smiles!

Tinnie & Tackle Show a Great Success for BOAB BOAB attended its first Tinnie & Tackle Show in Brisbane on the weekend and what a great response we reiceved. Having handed out hundreds of brochures and speaking to just as many people, the people of Queenslands were enthusatic in their response to BOAB. Some had read about us, some had heard of us but most we pleased to finally have an option to boat ownership, knowing all the hassles that come with that not to mention that when they holiday around our beautiful country they have a BOAB boat to hire and explore, fish, dive, ski, sightsee the magnificient waters.
