Catch of the year!! Brent & the boys took a leisurely day off work to see who would be the most successful fisherman. The fish were biting & all was looking great - then one of the boys decided to try catching fish from in the water rather than in the boat. We'll give the catch of the year to Justin & Brent for pulling him into the boat - luckily they didn't use the landing net!!!

Simon & Chloe carve it up
Simon & Chloe came down from Sydney for a great day on the lake. We're still trying to work out who caught the most fish as they're still arguing over what constitutes a catch - is it who gets the bite or who lands the fish. I'll give Chloe the award as she protested the loudest.

Congratulations on your wedding - Chantal & Adam Gilman
Geoffrey Wind took his nephew Joshua & brother-in-law Adam Gilman for a boys day out fishing on a Boab Boat Hire runabout on Lake Illawarra. Although the day was a bit rainy to start & finish the boys had a relaxing day to ease the nerves for Adam's wedding on Sunday 27th April. Although his catch on the day wasn't the best, we're sure he'll agree that he was saving his best catch for his wedding day. Australian Volunteer Coast Guards on Lake Illawarra The boys continue to do a great job, looking after not only Boab Boat hire customers but all that venture out onto the lake. They deserve lots of chocolate from the easter bunny - and i think looking at how relaxed they all were perhaps they've already eaten a bit. Thanks guys - keep up the good work.

Boab Boat Hire Wollongong / Boat Hire Lake Illawarra
Kel, Christie, Jake, Tayla & Riley tried their luck on a Boab boat after being a little crowded in on Windang's foreshore. Although they only caught a few small fish, Tayla found a nice collection of shells.

Boab Boat Hire Lake Illawarra Easter Sunday Nicole and Mark travelled down from Sydney for the weekend in Wollongong. They spent a glorious day on Lake Illawarra, anchoring off the drop off zone. Although lucky in the weather they weren't so lucky on the fishing side - oh well just means they'll have to visit Wollongong again

Boab Boat Hire - Lake Illawarra After a sleepy start the baker from Shellcove & the boys from Wagga & the Rock set out for a day on the lake. Not much to talk about on the fish success - was it the fish or the fishermen?? - but the kids had a nice little boat ride at the end of the day. Rhys & Seth along with Seth's dad Adam (the sleepy baker) can be seen in the photo

Rosehill Boat Show The Rosehill Boat show was held the weekend of February 22-24th & Boab Boat Hire was a stand out , featuring the full range of hire boats - Centre cab, Sports Rider, the Kimberley All-Rounder and the new runabouts.
Representatives from all Boab Boat Hire locations - Drummoyne, Jervis Bay, Pittwater, & Wollongong, along with the management team - were on hand to answer the numerous questions.
Alistair McGlashan was also there throughout the weekend signing his popular Strikezone DVD series & fishing book - The Fishing bible - which proved a great hit, as well as a great source of knowledge.
Lake Illawarra fishing & boating enthusiasts also ventured out of the Illawarra for the weekend to check the numerous boats & tackle that was on display at the show.
General consensus - whilst it would be nice to own some of the boats on display- definately a better option to hire

Fishing Lake Illawarra with new runabouts! Boab Boat Hire Wollongong has now added runabouts to their fleet. These are great for fishing or a leisurely day out on Lake Illawarra or Shoalhaven River. The boats are for smooth waters only & offer a great alternative to fishing from the shore. However, for the more adventurous why not try a centre cab off shore from Scott at Boab Jervis Bay.

Australia Day Long Weekend - Boab Boat Hire Wollongong What a great Australia Day weekend - sunshine was glorious, even though the seas were a bit on the choppy side.
Michael, Paul & the family picked the centre cab up on Friday arvo & went down to JB for the weekend. Returning Sunday a great weekend was had by all.
And the choppy conditions didn't deter the Sydney boys from coming down to Port Kembla & fishing off the islands on Monday. They came in a little earlier than expected as two of the boys had had enough of supplying the burly.
Good thing one of them is in the RAAF not the navy
